Office of Religious Education

“And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14

The Office of Religious Education is committed to an active partnership between clergy, parish staff, catechists and families.  We provide consultative services directly to parishes—in both English and Spanish—for parish religious education programs, for young adult ministry, adult faith formation resources and the implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (the process for adults wishing to become Catholic).  The Office sponsors numerous events and workshops and offers audio, video and text resources for all ages, available year-round.

For a full schedule of opportunities and venues to learn more about the Catholic Faith please visit DiscoverCatholicFaith website.

The mission of catechesis is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as handed on in the Roman Catholic tradition, by inviting the faithful to a more personal relationship with God characterized by living a sacramental life, a lifelong pattern of prayer, Christian service, and growth in understanding of the Catholic faith.

“The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is the privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church §2226)
