The Office of Community Services and Catholic Charities is the umbrella organization for a cluster of social ministry programs including Immigration and Refugee Services, Elder Services, Peace and Justice Education, the Cabrini Fund Child Care Scholarship Program, Tax Assistance, and Chaplaincy Services at the State Institutions. The Office of Community Services and Catholic Charities seeks state, federal, and private funds to support and enhance these services. Staff members of the Office of Community Services and Catholic Charities operate out of One Cathedral Square, Providence as well as satellite locations in Woonsocket, Pawtucket/Central Falls, West Warwick and Wakefield.

Project Hope provides direct assistance to low-income families. Services offered include:

• Assistance with basic needs such as food, rent, prescriptions
• Access to the Keep the Heat On assistance program
• Immigration information, assistance, and representation.
• Applications for the Cabrini Fund child care scholarship program
• Preparation of income taxes for low-income individuals and
families is available from January through April.

One of the longest serving senior centers in Rhode Island, this nationally recognized center provides a wide range of culturally diverse programs and services for over 1,900 inner city seniors, homebound elders and disabled adults including:

• Information and referral
• Daily meals
• Health screenings
• Social services
• Advocacy
• Spiritual enrichment programs
• Support groups
• Computer instruction
• A variety of activities and classes
Programs are operated in partnership with the Rhode Island Division of Elderly Affairs.
