The Diocese of Providence is a geographic delineation for a community of hundreds of thousands of Roman Catholics who worship in the 141 parishes and shrines. There are 369 priests (270 diocesan priests and 99 religious priests), 87 deacons, 408 religious sisters and 74 brothers serving in the Diocese. More than 13,335 children attend the Diocese’s 42 elementary and high schools. The Diocese itself is comprised of more than 221 individual corporations representing our parishes, offices and agencies.

In 2013, Diocesan outreach programs served more than 348,569 individuals in Rhode Island in its various hospitals and ministries, providing services, assistance and advocacy to those who need it most.
